TJ Casey and Martin Guitar Support the National Day of the Cowboy

TJ Casey and Martin Guitar & Company have teamed up to support the work of the National

Day of the Cowboy nonprofit organization. Martin has donated one of its famous “Little Martin”

LXM Series Acoustic Guitars to TJ, to be raffled for the benefit of the recently formed Cowboy

and Western heritage focused organization.

TJ, who is a multi-talented Western singer, songwriter, and Cowboy poet, is an official spokesperson

for the National Day of the Cowboy Organization. Casey also teaches Western heritage and Cowboy culture

 to young cowboys and cowgirls, helping them connect to Western roots by working with them in clinics and

teaching them how to be safe around horses. Along with the clinic, he teaches ranch roping, cattle handling,

horseshoeing, and horsemanship. With the help of several arts councils and 4-H, TJ also has the opportunity

to teach Cowboy poetry in the classroom.

For well over a century and a half, the Martin Guitar Company, which was established in 1833, has been

continuously producing acoustic instruments that are acknowledged to be the finest in the world.

Many well known Country and Western artists are on the roster of Martin & Company’s illustrious

clientele, such as Gene Autry, Michael Martin Murphy, Marty Robbins, Dwight Yoakam, Dolly Parton,

 Will Rogers and Willie Nelson, to name a few.

The First National Day of the Cowboy was proclaimed by the United States Senate as July 23, 2005.

The Second Annual National Day of the Cowboy will be July 22, 2006, once the 2006 resolution passes.

The mission of the National Day of the Cowboy Organization is to contribute to the preservation of

America’s Cowboy heritage so that the history and culture which the National Day of the Cowboy honors,

can be shared and perpetuated for the public good, through education, the arts, celebrations,

gatherings, rodeos, and community activities.

Raffle tickets for the Martin will be five dollars each and the winning ticket will, of course, be drawn

on the Second Annual National Day of the Cowboy, July 22, 2006! Tickets are available for purchase

through TJ’s website or they may be purchased directly from TJ at any of his personal appearances.

For Immediate Release: “It’s In My Blood” at No.7 on Power Source Chart

(Billings, MT) Pure “D” Cowboy is going strong for TJ Casey. Soon after its release last fall, the CD

climbed to No. 6 on the Sunset Network Western Charts and a song, “Cowboy Don’t Change Your Ways,”

went to the top within three months of the release. The CD hasn’t stopped there - another song,

“It’s In My Blood,” is sitting at No. 7 on the Power Source Magazine Western/Swing Music Charts.

Power Source Magazine (www.powersourcemagazine.com), which is supplied to bookstores and

newsstands nationally and internationally, is like no other with a mix of faith, family and country and a

great resource for the world of music. The publication, based out of Nashville, Tenn., contains several

 major music charts including Christian Country, Southern Gospel, Indie Country, and Western/Swing.

It also contains album reviews, and features such artists as George Strait, Stella Parton, Randy Travis and

the legendary Johnny Cash.

“It’s In My Blood,” written by Casey in 2004, features Joseph FireCrow, a Native American Flutist

(www.josephfirecrow.com). FireCrow is a member of the Northern Cheyenne Nation of Montana and is a

past Grammy nominee and winner of three Native American Music Association Awards (Nammys).

The song is a reflection of how TJ feels about the country he was raised in: the Pryor and Big Horn Mountains.

His family lived and worked on a ranch where he and his siblings packed water from the spring for his Mom

to cook and do laundry. Fortunate to be taught by his Dad the Code of the West, TJ now devotes a lot of his

time to working in the schools teaching western/cowboy culture and cowboy poetry. He hopes to pass on to

future generations the strong morals and values and love for the country and customs that he knows and respects.

TJ Casey - Spokesman for National Day of the Cowboy

(Billings, MT) The National Day of the Cowboy nonprofit organization is proud to announce

Montana Cowboy, TJ Casey, has signed on to be one of their official spokespersons. TJ's purpose

in supporting the organization is to encourage recognition and appreciation for all the history and

heritage the National Day of the Cowboy represents. As a touring performer in Western music and

Cowboy poetry, he is in a unique position to share information about the work of the organization

with those who support the preservation of our Western heritage. National Day of the Cowboy is July 22, 2006.

A spokesperson for the National Day of the Cowboy Foundation must be someone who believes in

the "Cowboy" way to the extent that they participate deeply and actively in some aspect of the

preservation of America's Western heritage. In addition, a spokesperson for the organization should

have a clear and accurate understanding of the history of the Cowboy resolution, a day set aside by

the United States Senate to pay homage to our Cowboy and Western heritage, as well as to honor Cowboys

 and Cowgirls, rodeo athletes, Western musicians, Cowboy poets, Western artists, ranchers, and all

others who contribute to the Cowboy and Western culture in America today.

As Bethany Braley, founder of the organization notes, "TJ is eminently suited to fill this role for us.

He has dozens of national awards for Western singing, songwriting, and Cowboy poetry, while his

entertainment travels take him from his beloved Montana all over America. The breadth of his

dedication to the preservation of our Cowboy heritage is evident in his continued involvement

in numerous other organizations which are also focused on key aspects of Western and Cowboy culture."

TJ along with several other musicians, performed for the troops and their families at

Ft Riley, Kansas on November 29, 2005. The troops are being deployed to Iraq in December

and Best of America by Horseback has put together some great entertainment.

“Montana’s Singing Cowboy,” T.J Casey, has just released the long anticipated follow-up to his

celebrated western swing debut, Blue Montana Skies. This more traditional acoustic album,

titled Pure “D” Cowboy, is a Montana-made cowboy classic.

T.J. combines his talent as a cowboy poet, and his talent for ropin’ a wild and free melody, and

presents his fans with a dozen new songs about authentic cowboy life in the west. He single-handedly

wrote all but one song (“Old Can Man” with words by Val Prophet), and there’s not a downer in the wagon.

Pure “D” Cowboy was produced and engineered by John Westbrook of Westco Music and Sound

 (Belgrade, Montana). He is a performer in his own right (www.cowboyentertainer.com) and plays lead

and rhythm guitar, and bass on the album. It also features several other Montana musicians,

including multi-award-winning fiddle player Tim Todd, and Laura Wilson on accordion. T.J. plays rhythm

guitar and sings back-up vocals, along with vocalists Laura and Andy Wilson, and Alice Hanks

of the western duo SaddleBags.

The single from the album, “It’s In My Blood,” features special guest Joseph FireCrow,

courtesy of Makoche' Records (www.josephfirecrow.com). Native American flutist FireCrow is a

 member of the Northern Cheyenne Nation of Montana and is a past Grammy nominee and winner

of two Nammys (Native American Music Association awards). It is a seamless musical collaboration

between Cowboy and Indian.

This has been a busy year for T.J., with the release of his first video, “In America,” a new book of

cowboy poetry, A Cowboy’s Thoughts in Rhyme, and over 100 appearances throughout the country.

TJ CASEY TO RELEASE MUSIC VIDEO
(Billings, MT) - TJ Casey will be releasing a music video of "In America," a song off the

"Blue Montana Skies" CD. The release of the video will be seen during Horse Sense, a program

aired on RFD-TV, December 14, 2004.  Horse Sense is a series that is both educational and

entertaining for all levels of horsemen and features experts in various aspects of the horse industry.

TJ's video is a dedication to all the horse owners across America.

The producer of Horse Sense, LZ, approached TJ Casey earlier this year about producing a

 video for "In America". The majority of the video was shot, on location at Rocking Tree Ranch,

Big Timber, Montana, with the help of Mary Bennett and ranch staff, check them out at www.rockingtreeranch.com.

LZ is also the executive producer of The Cattle Show. This show is aired in the time slot before

 Horse Sense and is a half hour weekly program about ranchers and their experiences along

with products or procedures pertaining to the cattle market. Check it out on the web at www.thecattleshow.com.

TJ CASEY PERFORMS FOR BLUE HIGHWAYS TV
(Billings, MT) October 19, 2004. At the request of Dan Miller, TJ Casey performed at the

Depot for "An Evening of Americana." TJ and The Rough Rider Band performed with the cameras

rolling as they played some great western, western swing and cowboy music.
TJ was honored to share the stage with the likes of Dan Miller producer of "Due West", a series

about Western spirit and lifestyle.  Stan Hitchcock, host of "Heart to Heart" and legendary country

singer-songwriter. Ronnie Reno, bluegrass musician, bandleader and host of "Reno’s Old Time Music Festival."

Other performers included Michael Jonathan, host of WoodSongs, a music and interview radio program,

and other artists from the Billings area.

The show will be aired on BlueHighways TV scheduled for cable in early 2005. This is a new network

that explores the folklore, music, traditions, destinations, festivals and artistry of America. Keep your

TJ has made it one more step with the Academy of Western Artists. He is now one of the

 Top 5 nominees for Rising Star of the Year.

The Academy of Western Artists is narrowing down their list to the Top 10. TJ is still in

the running for Rising Star of the Year and Western Music Male of the Year. The awards will

take place in July at Ft Worth, TX.

APRIL 2004

TJ Casey may be "Montana's Singing Cowboy," but there are folks all across the country who

are interested in hearing his newly vintage western songs and tales of ropin' and ridin' the range.

They will be tuning in when he is featured live as the on-air guest at 10 p.m. Wednesday, April 21 on "

The New Roger Fredinburg Show," a nationally broadcast show that can be heard round the world

Roger Fredinburg co-hosts the show with country legend Stonewall Jackson and

"The Chaplin of Country Music," Doug Dugger. Jackson's 40-plus years in country music include

recording the first live album at the Grand Ole Opry. He's had two No. 1 country hits as well as a

TJ's song "Trickling Water" is sitting at #5 on the Western Swing Songs top 10 as of December 20, 2003.

Academy of Western Artists Tips Its Hat to Cowboy Musician T.J. Casey

(BILLINGS, MONTANA) - T.J. Casey's CD "Blue Montana Skies" must have struck a chord or two

 within the Academy of Western Artists. After just eight months of national and international radio play,

Casey has received ten Will Rogers Awards nominations from the AWA.

The AWA is a group of cowboy artisans who came together to preserve, and perpetuate the traditions,

values, and heritage of the American Cowboy.  The group sponsors the annual Will Rogers Awards Show,

which gives recognition and encouragement to those individuals who are bringing the cowboy movement

in to the 21st Century. The Awards will be held in Ft. Worth, Texas at the Scott Theater on July 8, 2003.

Of his ten award nominations, which included Western Music Male Vocalist of the Year, Entertainer

of the Year and Rising Star of the Year, Casey made the top ten cut in the category, Western Music Song

of the Year for the title track on his latest CD, "Blue Montana Skies", and is one of the Top 5

Finalists for the category, Western Swing Album of the Year with "Blue Montana Skies".
It is more than appropriate that a musician like T.J. Casey is recognized by the AWA because

he truly is one of the last "singing cowboys". His broke-in boots and dusty hat are telltale signs of days

spent in the saddle, ridin' the range and ropin' the wind. Casey's simple, cowboy way of life makes for

 genuine cowboy music that touches the hearts of his fans and gives them a taste of life under the "Blue Montana Skies".

Casey makes his home near Billings, Montana and spends much of his time entertaining crowds

with his music and cowboy poetry. He provides entertainment at a number of different venues

T.J. Casey's "Blue Montana Skies" hits national radio this week, October 1, 2002.

(MANHATTAN, MT) - Radio stations around the country are about to get a fresh

taste of real cowboy music.The music of T.J. Casey, Montana's Singing Cowboy,

will hit the airwaves with the debut of his latest CD, "Blue Montana Skies". This collection

of 12 songs features Casey's unique talent of capturing the laid back life of the West

through his own words and music.

Having honed his songwriting skills over the years through music and cowboy poetry, Casey

mixes his own brand of Western Swing with stories of ridin' the range and ropin' the wind. Best

known for his personal rendition of "Cowboy's Paradise", which he performed for thousands

while on the Louisiana Hayride, Casey captures that same feeling on his new CD with songs like

"Trickling Water", and the title track, "Blue Montana Skies".

As an entertainer, T.J. Casey lives the life he sings about in his songs. He's a real,

honest-to-goodness American cowboy, spending his days in the saddle and on the ranch.

 One thing's for sure... Casey is no gimmick. His boots are broke-in' his spurs are well worn
